Developmental Edit
This service offers in-depth, big-picture feedback on a completed draft. I’ll assess elements such as structure, plot, pacing, character development, voice and overall coherence. The feedback will come as a detailed editorial letter outlining what’s working and where revisions would strengthen the manuscript and comments in the text where appropriate to illustrate my suggestions. A developmental edit is ideal if you want professional guidance to make your manuscript structurally sound before moving on to line-level edits.
Fee: From £22 per 1,000 words

Short Story Edit
A focused editorial assessment for short fiction, combining big-picture feedback with line-level edits. I’ll comment on structure, voice, pacing and impact, while also editing the text using Track Changes. This service is ideal for writers preparing short stories for submission to magazines, competitions or anthologies.

One-off Consultation
I have extensive editorial and publishing expertise and this is a 60-minute session to discuss editorial feedback, strategy or anything else writing or publishing-related that you need guidance with. You'll receive a follow-up email that summarises our discussion and suggested next steps. You'll have the opportunity to send reading material or not, and the service can be expanded into a coaching package on request.
Fee: From £120 per consultation (discount available on booking multiple sessions for book coaching)

Read & Evaluate
Not sure which service is the right one for you? I'd love to tailor the editorial support to the needs of your project and to do that best, I can offer to read and assess the type of editorial guidance needed for a reading and evaluation fee of £120. This covers a read-through of up to 40,000 words and a clear recommendation via email on the type of editorial support that would be most beneficial. If you decide to go ahead with the service I suggest, £60 of the reading fee will be credited towards your final project cost. The remaining £60 covers the time spent on the assessment itself. The quote will be valid for 60 days from the issue date.

Line Edit
Line editing focuses on the craft of your prose once the structure is in place. I work line by line to improve clarity, flow, rhythm and voice, tightening language while preserving your style. Edits are made using Track Changes, and this service is ideal if you want your writing to feel polished, confident and engaging ahead of copyediting.

Copyedit
Copyediting is a detailed edit that addresses grammar, syntax, consistency and clarity at sentence level, as well as continuity issues and basic fact-checking where relevant. You’ll receive the manuscript with Track Changes and a style sheet, ensuring consistency throughout. This stage prepares your manuscript to a professional standard before final proofing.

Hybrid Line and Copyedit
A hybrid line and copyedit will offer comprehensive feedback on the line to address grammar, syntax, consistency and clarity as well as rhythm and voice to strengthen the writing while preserving your style. You'll receive both the manuscript with Track Changes and a line/copyedit style sheet. This stage prepares your manuscript to a professional standard before final proofing.

Proofread
Proofreading is the final editorial pass before publication. I'll check for typographical errors, punctuation slips, formatting inconsistencies, and small grammatical issues, ensuring the text is clean and publication-ready. The feedback will come as corrections in Adobe PDF. This service is best suited to manuscripts that have already been structurally edited and laid out or are very close to final form.

Agent Querying Support
I offer querying support to review your agent query letter and synopsis, and provide suggestions via Track Changes and comments in the text. I also offer feedback on narrative non-fiction proposals. For fiction, there is an option to add on the first 10,000 words of the manuscript for a submission-ready polish.
